While I'm a graphic designer by trade, I sometimes wish I was an ornithologist. I often combine
my love of art, natural landscapes, and birds in my favorite fine art medium, linocut print.
I embrace the challenge of taking an image and simplifying to just one or two colors. The
textures and irregularities of linocut lend a refreshing, gritty "real-ness" to an over-saturated,
over-Photoshopped artificial media landscape.
The physicality of carving and printing a piece allows me to truly pour myself into my work.
Each piece has been carefully sketched, transferred to linoleum block, and hand-carved. Working
without a press, I ink and transfer my prints to fine art papers (mulberry, banana, etc.) using a
kitchen spoon as a brayer.
Prints are available for purchase upon request.
